Memorial Obituary Cards
"A lasting memorial of your loved one for family and friends"
"I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry." Psalm 40:1
I was not a fan of computers. My husband was. And he tried to convince me of their worth. But the idea of making one hand-written copy of something, then typing it onto a computer - seemed like double the work to me. I thought I'd done well trying out a word-processor, but he insisted I give the computer a fair chance. And so I did...
I guess it was after I made a business card that I knew I'd found my calling. Everything, except for a few bumps in the road due to my own lack of patience, began to fall into place. For the first few years I did mostly business cards and resumes until in September 1998 when I got a phone call - the beginning of a vision that would take me nearly 7 years to fully understand
The call was from a truly wonderful person who would soon become a dear friend and loyal client, Cora Mae Vital from Welsh, Louisiana. She asked me if I could make an "obituary card". I had no idea what she was talking about as I'd never heard of one, nor had I ever seen one. She described it as a sort of "bookmark". Using her description, I printed one and upon her approval (I know now she was obviously just being nice) I printed them for her. The card memorialized the late Alfred Prudhomme of Welsh. Looking back now, it's clear I didn't really know what an obituary card was. But Mrs. Vital was very kind about the whole thing and later brought a real one for me to see. It was from that moment on that I began the process of "following and listening"!
Our Memorial Obituary Cards are dedicated to the memory of my mother, Patty, who went home to the Lord on March 24, 2001, leaving me with an empty space but a burning vision that is now my pleasure to share with you. It is my hope that these cards will bless you and your family and friends and will serve as a lasting memorial to the cherished memory of your departed loved one.
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you;
the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace."
